HW: Pg. 139/ #35 and Pg. 141/ #42 and complete class worksheet

Lesson Review:
Keep in Mind
Number of coins x Value of each coin in cents = Total value of the coins in cents

Bill has 4 times as many quarters as dimes. In all he has $2.20. How many coins of each type does she have?

Solution: Let x= number of dimes and 4x = number of quarters
The value of a dime is 10 cents and the value of a quarter is 25 cents
The total value of all the coins is 220 cents.
Write the equation: 10x + 25(4x) = 220
10x + 100x = 220
110x = 220
x= 2
Answers: 2 dimes and 4(2) = 8 quarters
