ME92: How to calculate Percent Increase or Decrease ?

HW: Page 232/ #40, 43 and Complete side 2 of worksheet

Lesson Review: General Rule = Difference in price/ original price times 100

During a sale, the price of a dress decreased from $48 to $32. What was the per cent of the decrease in price?
First find the difference in price. $48 - $32 = $16

To find the percent we divide the $16 by the original price of $48 and then multiply by 100 to get the perent. 16/48 times 100 = .333 times 100 = 33.3 %
